l use to work at an outdoor education centre and we fed our frogs crickets. Often, the uneaten crickets would escape from the froghabitat...

l would love to own a couple of long tailed lizards, but l live in an apartment and I am afraid of live food escaping... the crickets in particular. I've been told that some lizards will eat the freeze dried food, and some simply won't. Is it possible that they will eat the freeze dried food if it is the only option available?

Depends on the individual.

That goes for all reptiles.

I've seen turtles, lizards, frogs, toads absolutely refuse ''prepared'' food, while others will scarf it down no problems.

What u do is find a reputable breeder & ask them if they have one that has proven it will eat prepared food.
Or adopt one from someone who can not keep theirs anymore.

BEWARE! Some people will say anything to get the animal off their hands and/or make a buck. Make sure u see with ur own eyes that it will eat before u take it.

Good luck
